Why do my custom styles change when using the layout aid?
The layout aid use a JavaScript powered style sheet switcher that loads alternate style sheets when you click the different layout links. These alternate style sheets load different styles to represent the corresponding layout. It is possible that these styles could conflict with your custom styles.
For example, the "normal" layout sets the background of many of the major page elements to {background:none}. This is to negate the background colors added by the "diagnostic" layout. If you have added custom a background, such as a color or image, the "normal" layout may override it with {background:none}.
To determine whether or not this is the case, simply set the Layout Aid to "Hide".
