How do I migrate my template from Construct Pro to Construct Unified?
Migrating your template from Construct Pro to Construct Unified shouldn't require that much work as they both use the same template structure, core CSS, logic ... etc. The notable differences lie in the core output from Joomla, as Construct Unified introduces the output from Joomla! 1.6 into Joomla! 1.5 and Nooku Server. Therefore, some CSS modifications may be required to complete this migration.
To migrate from Construct Pro to Construct Unified:
- As always, start by backing up your entire website.
- Install Construct Unified.
- Manually copy /layouts/index.php, any custom CSS, images, fonts...etc from Construct Pro to Construct Unified.
- Set Construct Unified as your default template.
- View your site and take note of any CSS adjustments that may be required.
Most likely, you will need to adjust the menu styles, as the inner span element has been removed, and any modifications that you made to the core output overrides in Construct Pro.
